Jeff Atkisson was born and raised in Portland Oregon. After 4 years at George Fox University I graduated with an Education Theatre degree and went to work for Walt Disney World for the next 2 years as general technician. Being part of the opening crew for three major openings (Fantasmic, Lord of the Dance, and Millenia Village Theatre) was enough for me so I decided to settle down a little bit and go work for a lighting design firm back in my hometown.
Hollywood Lights was an amazing experience and I still consider the people there not only friends but family. Never have I been challenged and pushed so hard in my choosen career than when I was there. It was an amazing experience.
After 3 1/2 years I needed to be back in Florida. I hated the weather in Oregon and moving away from my family a second time was by far one of the hardest decisions I have ever made.
I now currently work as the campus lighting designer for First Baptist Church Orlando.
I have been doing freelance photography for The First Academy and other groups for the last three years. I absolutely love the creative and visual outlet that it gives me and I have continued to grow so much over the years in both my skills and my artistry. I have two passions in life…one is lighting, and the second is small business. This allows me to have my cake and eat it too! I hope you all enjoy the work I have been blessed to complete and I can’t wait to show you more as my skills and business progress!
